A short safari from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a night at a lodge and a half-day tour of the crater.

You descend over 600 metres to the crater floor to explore its forest, where monkeys and elephants live, the lake, where you may see flamingos, and the open savannah where lions hunt.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Ngorongoro

    The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 12:30.

    At 14:00, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

    Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  2. Day 2

    Ngorongoro Crater and back to Arusha

    Today you descend 2,000 feet (over 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a half-day crater tour. Explore the forest, home to monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see flamingos, and the open savannah where lions hunt.

    Lunch at the lodge.

    After lunch, drive back to Arusha. Drop-off in Arusha town is at around 17:00.
