A short safari from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park.

You descend over 600 metres to the crater floor for a half-day tour of its forest, its lake and its open savannah. Lake Manyara National Park is home to hippos, monkeys, tree-climbing lions, flamingos and many other birds.

Your days

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    Arusha to Ngorongoro

    The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 12:30.

    At 14:00, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

    Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  2. Day 2

    Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara

    Today you descend 2,000 feet (over 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a half-day crater tour. Explore the forest, home to monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see flamingos, and the open savannah where lions hunt.

    Lunch at the lodge, then drive to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  3. Day 3

    Lake Manyara and back to Arusha

    Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, home to hippos, monkeys, tree-climbing lions, flamingos and many other birds.

    In the middle of the morning, drive back to Arusha.

    Lunch in Arusha town at 12:30.
